I should also have put links out here for the few short articles that were written about Trektinis. The links were on our main page before, but that's all changed now.
Jason Roestel wrote an article talking about the podcast, and then wrote again after we did the Tini Awards .
There was a short piece about the podcast over at io9
And finally we made the list of Great Links: Drink Up Edition over at trekmovie.com
It's awesome that people are listening, and it appears as though there are at least a few people besides John and me who are having fun with this.
written by jessie at 1:47 a.m. on Jan. 29, 2009 10 commentsEpisode 17 is now available. In it we talk about The Cage/The Menagerie, a two part episode from the original series. The Cage was the original pilot, and The Menagerie is the two part episode where they basically watch the pilot in the episode. It's available on iTunes, or in the listen section here. If you'd like to drink along with us here's the recipe.
There are also new outtakes available on the listen page.

written by jessie at 3:59 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2009 9 commentsLast night I watched MTV Spoilers to see the "exclusive" content of the new Star Trek movie. I barely made it through the first 15 minutes I needed to wait to see the Star Trek stuff without killing myself. The bimbo 18 year old hostess of the show was painfully irritating and asked the audience and guests the most irrelevent and worthless questions MTV could come up with. I suppose that's par with all the content on MTV.
When the Star Trek content finally came on, Zachary Quinto made a brief introduction, then we saw 2 behind the scene clips (each about 2 seconds long), then a bunch of footage that we already saw in the trailers only in a different order. Following the footage they interviewed a Star Trek alumni who was in the audience. Who was this alumni? Wil Wheaton of course. (Who looked like he might have showered sometime last week.) They went on to ask him a couple questions about the new movie of which there is no way he could possibly know the answers to.
Moral of the story is that as much as I love Star Trek, MTV is so painfully annoying that it was not worth sitting through that crap for the little footage that was shown.

If you haven't read it I'd recommend you do. Not only because it's a pretty good story, but also gives you a lot of back story that I'm guessing you won't get from the movie.

I must apologize for 2 things. We recorded this episode 2 weeks ago, but I didn't have time to edit and post it until just now. Also, in the episode I refer to the ancient Vulcan religion as being Monotheistic. I intended to say "Polytheistic".
Enjoy the episode!

Also, this podcast was recorded about a week ago, so our Trek News is out of date regarding Walter Koenig's son. We regret that Andrew Koenig was found dead after apparently committing suicide. Trektinis sends our condolences to the family.
